“Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,
“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the LORD God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? May the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up!”
II Chronicles 36:22-23
O LORD God! O God of Israel!
Be with us! Let us rise up and rebuild. Let us go up to the house of the LORD! Let us lift up holy hands without fear and doubting. Let us lift up our voices in praise and thanks to you in the sanctuary.
We say!
“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
Our feet have been standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem is built As a city that is compact together,
Where the tribes go up, The tribes of the LORD, To the Testimony of Israel, To give thanks to the name of the LORD.
For thrones are set there for judgment, The thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.”
Psalms 122:1-9
O Yes! We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray for peace in the world. We pray for protection over the innocent.
We pray that the veil be torn away and for truth to prevail.
We pray that the fog be lifted from those cowering in fear and bowing down to the deception of tyrants.
We ask that you give us our our daily bread even in the midst of threats of famine.
We ask that you give us forgiving hearts to forgive those who rise up against us.
We thank you, O Holy One, that you dwell within us and among us.
We pray that your kingdom come and your will be done in the earth as it is in heaven.
So be it. In Jesus name.
