Merciful.

Jesus. This is what you say.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

For they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

For they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

For they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:3-12‬

O LORD. We heed your blessed words. You have promised us the Kingdom. Promised us comfort. Given us an inheritance. Given us eyes to see you.

You say! You will fill our hunger and thirst. You will be merciful to us and we will see your face.

You have called us “sons of God”. We are Children of the Most High God. You have called us “friend”. You say that we are overcomers. You say that we are more than conquerors.

And even in the midst of evil, trials and persecutions, you have made us glad! You have made us salt and light. Your Kingdom cannot be hidden. Your Kingdom WILL come and Your will IS being done.

We declare!

Your Word cannot be undone. Your Word is a lamp to our path and a light to our feet. All over the world. Your light shines. It cannot be put out. Your gift of peace cannot be undone.

In the midst of famine, pestilence, war and constant rumors of war. Your cause will not be undone and the light of your glory cannot be extinguished.

You! O Holy and Righteous One! You have fulfilled the law. It will stand! Heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of the LORD will stand! We will stand in it and we will declare it. We will not be shaken though the earth shakes and the mountains shake and crumble into the sea.

“For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.” Isaiah‬ ‭54:10‬

Thank you LORD for your mercy. Be merciful to us as your people. Be merciful to the warring nations. Be merciful and help us to be merciful during these perilous times.

In Jesus name. Amen.
