Father God.
We know the days we are living in. We see the signs of the times. They are perilous indeed. Men are lovers of self more than lovers of God. They despise holiness and righteousness. They feed on injustice. They mock. They ridicule. They wag their tongues like dogs. But we listen for your voice above the noise and the deluge of lies, deception and fear mongering.
You say! Keep your eyes on me! Keep your eyes on Jesus! He is the “author and the finisher” of our faith! You say, “Follow me.” Not to follow and trust in Facebook or Twitter or the rest. Not to follow people and words and things. Not to put our our hope in man. Not to put our trust in man.
“Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?” Isaiah 2:22
Our TRUST is in the LORD! The maker of the heavens and the earth. We will fill our mind with the good things of the LORD. We will fill our mouths with his praise. We will mediate on his precious promises. We will worship at his feet. We will seek the LORD in these troubled times as the whole earth groans! We will seek the LORD while he may be found!
“If then you were raised with Christ, SEEK those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. SET YOUR MIND on things above, NOT on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3
“Finally, brethren,
whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report,
if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
O LORD! This is what you said! So this is what we will do! We will have peace in the midst of this troubled storm. We will have peace when the winds assail. We will have peace when the fear mongers and naysayers spew out their venom and hatred of the Most High God.
We call upon the Spirit of the Living God! Send another Damascus Road down to the earth! Deliver those bound by the evil one! Shine your light of salvation and blessing upon those who curse your name. Turn them around! Turn their curse into blessing. Turn their hatred into love. Turn their hearts toward you.
Send deliverance like you did for Saul! The one who wreaked havoc on the church. The one who breathed out threats and murder against the disciples of the LORD. The one who hated and despised them. Yet in your mercy you rescued him! You changed him from the inside out and even changed his name to Paul! Do it again, O LORD, do it again!
You! O Mighty One! You are our redeemer. You are our rescue. You are the ruler of it all. The giver of life and the maker of men. Teach us to follow your ways. Create clean hearts with us. Give us purpose far beyond what these carnal, natural minds can think. Let the destiny of Yahweh arise in each of us!
Come and make clear paths for our feet. Shine your light on our path and cast these mountains of evil into the sea. Cleanse our Nation and the Nations of the earth from this evil. Cleanse the oppressive governments of the earth. Cleanse your church. Cleanse our homes. Cleanse our hearts and minds so we can walk worthy as your followers.
Come Holy Spirit and invade the earth! Give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding to heed the words of Christ when he said, “FOLLOW ME.”
