Father!
We come before you wanting that good confession of faith. Where we are rooted and grounded in you. Not in power. Not in control. Not in greed. But in You and You alone!
We pray this over the leaders, the pastors and the people in America and across the earth. Keep them from the snare. Keep them from temptation and foolish lust. Pull out the roots of evil and the spirit of mammon - those who lust after riches, power and control more than God.
“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I Timothy 6:9-10
O LORD. We are not coming against Your blessings, favor and gifts upon the people! But we are coming against and pushing back those who seek to destroy the earth, it’s bounty and it’s people by lust, greed, theft and deception.
We say NAY to those using fear to gain political advantage.
We say NAY to those using fear to push a perverted agenda.
We say NAY to those using fear to bring people under their power and control.
We say NAY! We “flee these things!”
“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
I Timothy 6:11-12
We say like Paul! We will fight the good fight of faith. We will stand up for what is right. We will speak the truth and the truth will set us free. We will seek after Jesus who is the author and the finisher of our faith.
Jesus! The One who sits on the throne and ever intercedes for us.
Jesus! The One who bled and died for us so that we might have eternal life.
Jesus! The One who has sealed us from the wrath to come.
Jesus! The One who is coming back for us in the clouds full of glory.
Jesus! The One who is and was and is to come!
O Yes! We will look to Jesus! We will guard our faith in these perilous times. We will not fall prey to fear or enticing words of deception. But we will heed the instruction of Paul to Timothy!
“O Timothy! GUARD what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.”
I Timothy 6:20-21
Thank you God for your Word that addresses every situation and supersedes the “knowledge” of man. Thank you for the truth that sets us free. Thank you for courage and boldness. Thank you for being with us. Thank you for your watchful eye. Thank you for your strong right hand. Thank you for your presence that goes before us. Selah.
