O Shepherd of America. On this solemn day.
We remember 9/11.
We remember staring at the screens.
We remember where we were.
We remember what happened.
We remember the disbelief.
We remember the shock.
We remember the horror.
We also remember what your Word says.
“Don’t be misled - you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” Galatians 6:7
We know and are persuaded that whatever man or woman, nation or tribe, or group of people that was behind this atrocity will reap what they have sown. They will not escape the justice of the LORD of the Angel Armies. Every lie will be revealed and every truth will be exposed.
To the fallen on that day and to their families and friends. To the ones whose lives were stolen. To the first responders who saved the lives of those who remained. To the survivors of America left behind to deal with the aftermath.
We declare the words of David, the Shepherd King. He knew life and he knew death. He suffered much and he gloried much.
O that we would love like David and follow after God’s own heart.
O that we would trust Our God in troubled times.
O that we would look to him when terror comes by day or night.
O that we would rest in the comfort of the Father's arms that David knew so well.
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
