Yahweh.
Your Word stands true. It is light in the darkness. It is strength for the weary soul. It is help for the helpless and hope for the hopeless. It lifts our loads. It takes our burdens. It is rich food to the weak. It is insight to those willing to look, listen and learn.
Oh Lord. We climb up on the watchtower today. And we look. We have great expectation of what you are going to do. Even though we see all these things. Even though we hear all these things. Parades of lies and deceit pass in front of our eyes. We must hold to your Word. It is the truth. It is the way. It is the life.
We must fix our eyes on Jesus. Only Jesus can satisfy what’s wrong with the world. The church must fix their eyes on Jesus. America must fix her eyes on Jesus. Our President and Vice President must fix their eyes on Jesus. Only Jesus can save us from this mess. Only Jesus can save the lost. Only Jesus can save our enemies. Only Jesus can save those who have set out to despitefully use us. He alone is our salvation and our hope in this lost and dying world.
We cry out like Habakkuk with our complaints. How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen! Violence is everywhere! I cry, but you do not come to save. Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight. The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted.
Oh! Merciful God in heaven. There is truly nothing new under the sun! And there surely are strange things going on around us. Plagues and a whole new wardrobe of facial wear. Silent politicians sit idly by while America burns. We’ve got wild accusations from street wise punks and a brainwashed generation claiming they know it all. Churches who close their doors and don’t speak up or out. People walking around like robotic sheep. Folks are blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other. Lord help us!
Nevertheless. You are still God. You work in ways beyond our human understanding. That’s why you are God. You are God alone and above you there is no other. Help us to remember. It’s not all about us! The whole earth shakes and quakes. The nations of the earth are reeling. You have our attention! Move among us! Move in America. Move in the Nations of the earth.
Oh Strong God! God of the Angel Armies. Come and remove the wrath from among us. Remove these hordes advancing against us. They scoff against us. They sweep like the wind. Their fury is their strength. They are guilty before you. Oh yes! Guilty. From the anarchists in the streets wreaking havoc to the deafening silence of the majority of our political leaders sitting still. They sit deaf and dumb to the woes of this nation. Move on them all. In the mighty name of Jesus. We call forth a wake up across this nation. Wake up saints and sinners alike. Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!
So we stand up as the remnant. And we jump up on the watchtower and we cry out to you. Oh Lord of the Universe. We lift up holy hands with out wrath and doubting. And we call upon the name of the Lord who is mighty to save. Save us from our sins. Save us from ourselves as we implode from within. Come! Come oh Lord with your legions of angels and save the land.
Even though you work in ways we do not understand. We will not cease to call out to you. We will stand in faith believing. You are more than able to save that which we have committed into your hands. We commit America. We commit the President and Vice President. We commit the church. We stand. We pray. We watch for the glory of the Lord to be revealed. We watch for the new thing you are about to do!
