He is the Rock

Heavenly Father.

Hear us! Oh Lord! We sing a song like Moses. Listen, O heavens, and I will speak! Hear, O earth, the words that I say! Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants. We say. Yes Lord to your will and your way. Fall on us like the gentle rain. We will sing in the rain and dance in the puddles.

We will proclaim the name of the Lord! How glorious is our God. You are the Rock! Your deeds are perfect. Everything you do is just and fair. You are a faithful God who does no wrong. How just and upright you are. Rock solid! That’s my God!

We declare justice and fairness over our President. We declare justice and fairness throughout our land. We declare your faithfulness amidst a faithless and perverse generation. We declare your words to be trustworthy and your works to be timeless. You are the God who never fails! You are the God who always shows up! You are the God who always changes things! You are the God who always brings miracles!

You are the unchanging God. You don’t change. Your ways don’t change. Your Word doesn’t change. Your truth doesn’t change. Your goodness and mercy don’t change. You are our unchangeable God! In you alone we put our trust. You can be trusted!

You! Most Holy and Righteous One! You are truth! We call forth your truth to rise up over this deceitful and twisted generation. People would rather believe a lie than the truth. They will listen to the lies. Then fret because they heard the lies. Oh Lord! We call forth your truth to knock some sense into this foolish and senseless generation. Send us a Word from you! Oh Mighty One!

We choose truth! It will drown out the lies and deception, the foolishness and perversion, the ridiculousness and ugliness that the world wants us to ingest constantly. Let the words from the Good Book be more important than the words from Facebook. Can we bury our faces in the Bible rather than our phones? Jesus! Help your people! It’s like trying to fight a battle with a spoon. We cannot spoon the enemy to death. We need the Sword of the Lord to destroy the works of the enemy! Therefore! We rise to the occasion. We pick up our sword. We fight the good fight!

Oh! God of all the earth. We humbly bow before you. We cast our eyes your way. We look to you. You are just are fair. You are the Rock of all truth!

In Jesus name. Amen.
